Update: U.S. Marshal’s Service Task Force agents apprehended Candido Raul Rubio-Perez, 54, at an apartment complex on Berkley Drive for the murder of his estranged wife Niurka Alfonso-Acevedo on Monday. Rubio-Perez was booked in a short time ago on his outstanding criminal homicide warrant.
An arrest warrant charging criminal homicide is being issued against Candido Raul Rubio-Perez, 54, for this morning’s apparent domestic violence-related fatal stabbing of his estranged wife Niurka Alfonso-Acevedo, 52, outside Chadwell Elementary School in Madison. The murder occurred prior to student arrival.
Officers responded at 6 a.m. after a school staff member arrived, found Alfonso-Acevedo lying in the parking lot, and called 911. Alfonso-Acevedo had been working as a custodian at Chadwell since last fall. Detectives believe that Rubio- Perez had been waiting for her in the parking lot this morning prior to the attack.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward of up to $5,000 in homicide cases.
