A convicted felon was arrested by TITANS Unit detectives Tuesday evening after he was observed conducting what appeared to be hand-to-hand drug transactions in the Dickerson Pike area while inside a Kia K5. A traffic stop was conducted on Avondale Circle to which the Kia fled from at a high rate of speed before striking a utility pole.
Brandon Taylor, 39, got out of the driver’s seat and ran before he was taken into custody.
Inside the Kia, cocaine, marijuana and cash was recovered. A stolen handgun was also located during his arrest. The gun was taken in a July vehicle burglary on 2nd Avenue South.
Taylor had outstanding warrants for theft of a firearm for stealing his girlfriend’s gun in September 2024 and several charges related to a December crash.
He is now also charged with being a felon in possession of a weapon, weapon possession, felony and misdemeanor evading arrest, and drug possession.
Taylor remains jailed today on $61,500 bond.
