A convicted felon is already free on $18,500 bond this morning after he fled from TITANS Unit detectives last night with pills and marijuana on him. Detectives observed Terron Reeves, 35, driving his Honda Accord at 100 miles per hour on I-24 West near Harding Place.
A traffic stop was conducted at Westchester and Brookway Drive, but the Accord fled at a high rate of speed. The Accord, as a means to evade the traffic stop, went into oncoming traffic towards a detective’s police vehicle, forcing the detective to drive off the roadway to avoid a head-on collision.
Reeves parked the Accord in a garage on 11th Avenue North and attempted to flee on foot before he was apprehended.
Marijuana, amphetamine pills and a digital scale were all recovered at the scene. An additional bag of marijuana was recovered from inside Reeves’ pocket upon arrival at the Downtown Detention Center.
Reeves was charged with both felony and misdemeanor evading arrest, contraband in a penal institution, marijuana possession, drug possession without a prescription, evidence tampering, and drug paraphernalia.
Reeves has previous robbery, drug and weapon convictions.
