Four young men were arrested Saturday night after they were seen by Violent Crimes Division detectives riding in a stolen Nissan Altima which was found to contain four pistols. The victim reported the Nissan had been stolen by a group of four individuals and, as officers were processing the report, it was quickly located driving recklessly around East Nashville before speeding on I-65 South and Briley Parkway.
Detectives were able to safely take all four occupants into custody after the Nissan parked on Opry Mills Drive. The driver, Gary Palmer III, 20, attempted to avoid arrest, but was not successful.
The four loaded handguns were recovered.
Palmer and his passengers, Latrego Lewis, 18, Eric Fletcher, 19, and Daequan Moore, 18, were all charged with motor vehicle theft. Palmer was additionally charged with reckless driving and felony evading arrest. He remains jailed today on $35,000 bond. Lewis, Fletcher and Moore each received $10,000 bonds.
