Violent Crimes detectives arrested four young men last night found with several stolen firearms and marijuana while riding in a stolen vehicle. Justin King, 19, of Goodlettsville, and Isaiah Coffee, 18, of Hendersonville, were taken into custody inside of a gas station on Murfreesboro Pike after detectives observed them exit the stolen Nissan Murano with a stolen license plate. The Nissan matched the description of a suspect vehicle used to commit several recent burglaries across Davidson and Sumner counties.
During a search of the Nissan, several firearm magazines, more than one pound of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia were found. A Glock 19 pistol with an extended magazine was also recovered from inside of the gas station with fully automatic capabilities.
Dontavous Griggs, 20, of Nashville, and a 16-year-old were seen getting out of the Nissan at an apartment complex on Joseph Avenue just before King’s and Coffee’s arrest. The two were taken into custody with the help of TITANS (The Investigative Team Addressing Neighborhood Shootings) Unit detectives. Two more stolen Glock pistols were recovered from that scene.
King and Coffee have both been charged with three counts of motor vehicle burglary, motor vehicle theft, two counts of felony weapon possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, and firearm theft. Both are being held on $105,000 bonds.
Griggs was charged with joyriding, firearm theft, motor vehicle burglary, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He is being held on a $27,500 bond.
The 16-year-old was charged in juvenile court.
