A murder warrant is outstanding for Genesis Denton, 31, the Mall of Green Hills shopper who was robbed of his Louis Vuitton merchandise in the mall parking lot after he had returned to his vehicle on February 4.
Denton is accused of pursuing the robber’s getaway vehicle, a Tesla sedan, onto the interstate and firing shots into it. The driver of the car, Emmanuel Easley, was fatally wounded. The passenger in the Tesla--the man alleged to have robbed Denton--Omari Moore, 30, is facing a state aggravated robbery charge and a federal count of unlawful gun possession by a convicted felon.
Surveillance video shows Denton walk from the mall into the parking lot and get into his rented Volvo SUV, after which he was confronted by Easley. The two scuffled outside the Volvo before Easley got Denton’s Louis Vuitton clothing purchases and jumped into the Tesla. Denton gave chase.
