A GPS tracker taken during a 6th Avenue North auto burglary early Sunday enabled Violent Crimes detectives Sunday evening to charge the suspected thief and recover ten guns, ammunition, firearm magazines, stolen credit cards, cocaine laced with fentanyl, and marijuana.
Two of the guns were stolen in the 6th Avenue North auto burglary. The ownership of the other eight guns has not been determined. It is possible they were also stolen in recent auto burglaries. Firearm owners are urged to report stolen guns and their serial numbers promptly to help detectives hold thieves accountable. Anyone who had a gun taken this weekend during an auto burglary is urged to contact 615-862-8600 and request that a Violent Crimes detective call them back.
This investigation, with the assistance of a GPS tracker placed with the victims' belongings, led detectives to a unit at Fallbrook Apartments on Dellway Villa Road. The apartment was surrounded and announcements were made for the persons inside to exit. Antonio Dennis, 20, and Michael Anthony Harris, 41, complied. A subsequent search of the apartment resulted in the recovery of the guns, drugs, cash and more. Dennis is jailed in lieu of $75,000 bond on multiple counts of gun theft and auto burglary. Harris is charged with felony gun and drug charges. His bond is also set at $75,000.
