Detectives are continuing in their efforts to locate Genesis Denton, 31, the shopper who was robbed of his Louis Vuitton merchandise as he returned to his car in the Green Hills Mall parking lot on the afternoon of February 4. Denton was identified through information received from the Louis Vuitton store. He has made no known effort to contact law enforcement concerning the robbery.
It is known that Denton, who has an Illinois driver license, fled from the mall parking lot in a rented Volvo SUV just after he was confronted and robbed by a gunman who had emerged from the passenger side of a Tesla sedan. That individual, Omari Moore, 30, was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery on the evening of February 4. The U.S. Justice Department today charged Moore with unlawful gun possession by a convicted felon, which, upon conviction, carries a maximum federal prison sentence of 15 years.
After the robbery on February 4, Moore fled the mall parking lot in the Tesla, which was driven by accomplice Emmanuel Easley, 30. Easley was shot after driving away. He lost control of the car and crashed into a tree off the I-65 north entrance ramp from I-440. Easley died at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Moore was taken into custody at the crash site.
Detectives have a number of questions for Genesis Denton concerning the events of February 4. Anyone seeing him or knowing his whereabouts is asked to contact Nashville Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous.
