Update: MNPD Traffic Division officers on May 20 located the Mitsubishi Mirage at a rental facility in Mt. Juliet. Work is continuing to locate the driver.
Hit and Run crash investigators are working to identify the driver of a white Mitsubishi Mirage that Sunday at 6 p.m. struck and seriously injured a pedestrian, Zachary Carach, 21, while he was attempting to cross Church Street.
Carach, of Florida, was in the crosswalk in the 1500 block of Church Street when he was struck by the vehicle. The driver did not slow down after the collision. The Mirage will have front end damage on the passenger side (surveillance photo attached).
Carach was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
