Update: Isaiah Burr was brought into custody this morning in Hopkinsville, Kentucky following a coordinated effort between the MNPD Fugitives Unit and local police in Hopkinsville. A Crime Stoppers tip assisted detectives in locating Burr at his mother’s home. Chanya Sherill, 20, died yesterday from her injuries. The attempted criminal homicide warrant against Isaiah Burr will be upgraded to criminal homicide. He is still being held at this time in Kentucky.
Homicide Unit detectives have sworn out an arrest warrant for Isaiah Kamaree Burr, 20, for the shooting Saturday night that critically injured Chanya Sherill, 20, on Dickerson Pike. Burr is considered to be a danger to the community.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts are being asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
Sherill crashed into the Bank of America in her 2014 Chevrolet Cruz and was found lying on the ground outside the driver’s seat.
Burr is believed to be utilizing a dating app profile to contact women as a part of a robbery scheme.
Burr faces an attempted criminal homicide charge in Nashville. He also has active, outstanding warrants in Indiana and Kentucky.
