Traffic Unit Investigators have obtained a vehicular homicide warrant against the driver of the Chrysler Pacifica involved in the July 18 crash in the 8800 block of Highway 100 that killed a Missouri man. The investigation found that Jeremy King, 40, of Troy, TN, was driving approximately 89 mph passing vehicles in the oncoming lane of traffic, just before he clipped the back of a Ford F250 truck and lost control of the Chrysler.
The Chrysler then traveled back into the inbound lane of traffic where it collided with a Mercury Grand Marquis and Honda Accord. The driver of the Honda Accord, Dell Clark, 67, of Neck City, Missouri, died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
King was seriously injured and remains hospitalized.
There was no indication of alcohol or drug impairment on the part of any involved drivers.
King will be charged upon his release from the hospital with vehicular homicide by recklessness, reckless endangerment, two counts of reckless aggravated assault, and driving on a revoked license.
