Update: Jerry Crutcher, 67, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck Tuesday night on Dr. D.B. Todd Jr. Boulevard. A 38-year-old Nashville man came forward this afternoon and admitted to being the driver of the Jeep Cherokee involved in this case. The man told officers that he thought he impacted a speed bump. Charges are pending the completion of the investigation.
Traffic Division investigators are working to identify the driver of a black Jeep involved in Tuesday night's hit and run crash on Dr. D.B. Todd Jr. Boulevard at 17th Avenue North that killed a 67-year-old Nashville man. The preliminary investigation indicates the man was lying in the middle of the roadway when a Jeep struck him and continued northbound without stopping.
He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.
