Fesnando Santos, 37, is charged with aggravated assault for Tuesday afternoon’s non-critical stabbing incident inside Kroger at 711 Gallatin Avenue.
Officers responded at 1:20 p.m. after reports that Santos was armed with a knife and trying to stab people inside the store. He was sweating profusely, yelling, and acting irrationally. Officers encountered Santos at the front door and ordered him to drop the knife. He complied and was taken into custody.
Santos sustained a self-inflicted knife wound to his hand. He is accused of stabbing a male customer in the hand. He did not know the victim. Neither man sustained serious injuries. Santos is being held in lieu of $500,000 bond.
Santos was convicted of reckless homicide in 2019 for fatally stabbing a male acquaintance in the parking lot of the Quality Inn, 2401 Brick Church Pike. He was sentenced to two years.
