Jeremy Pieratt, 32, is jailed on a grand jury indictment charging him with vehicular homicide by intoxication and recklessness.
The charge stems from the April 15 car-tractor trailer collision on I-65 South near Old Hickory Boulevard in Brentwood that claimed the life of his mother, Kathy Pieratt, 55, of Nashville.
Kathy Pieratt was the front seat passenger in a 2010 Ford Fusion driven by her son. The semi driver had stopped on the right shoulder of I-65 to check on a low tire when Jeremy Pieratt, who was traveling southbound, veered right onto the shoulder and struck the rear of the semi’s trailer. Kathy Pieratt was critically injured and died on April 20.
Jeremy Pieratt remains jailed in lieu of $100,000 bond.
