Update: The man fatally shot Sunday morning outside 486 Bell Road is identified as Lennie Joel Sanchez, 31, of Nashville.
An all-day investigation into the 4 a.m. fatal shooting of a 31-year-old man in the parking lot near a nightclub/afterhours bar at 486 Bell Road led to tonight’s arrests of two men who admit to being in a shootout with the victim (efforts continue to locate and notify the deceased’s next of kin).
Angel Lucatero, 27, and Devon Hill, 26, are being charged with three counts of attempted murder for their gunfire toward three others in the parking lot, one of whom, a 22-year-old man, was wounded in the buttocks.
Lucatero and Hill claim they exchanged gunfire with the deceased victim in self-defense after he reached for his pistol first. The homicide aspect of the case remains under investigation and will be staffed with the District Attorney’s Office.
Detectives were able to locate and arrest Lucatero and Hill tonight after reviewing video footage from the shooting scene that captured the license plate number of their getaway vehicle. Surveillance was established on the vehicle late today and Lucatero and Hill were subsequently seen together at a Murfreesboro Pike storage unit. They were taken into custody shortly thereafter.
