The man killed in Wednesday’s 6:30 p.m. two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Ashland City Highway and Old Hickory Boulevard is identified as Bobby Raines Jr., 47, of Ashland City.
The preliminary investigation shows that Raines was driving a 2019 Hyundai Hatchback at a high rate of speed westbound on Ashland City Highway when he collided with an eastbound Ford Ranger pickup truck driven by Terry Bohanon, 59, of Fackler, Alabama. Bohanon was turning left onto Old Hickory Boulevard when the collision occurred. Raines died at the scene. His passenger, Jason Clouse, 42, was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt. Bohanon was also transported to Vanderbilt with non-life threatening injuries.
There was no evidence of drug or alcohol impairment at the scene. The preliminary contributing factor to this crash appears to be excessive speed on the part of Raines.
