The man shot by a security guard outside the Greyhound bus station at 7:25 a.m. this morning after throwing hot coffee into the guard’s face and attacking him will be arrested and charged with felony aggravated assault upon his discharge from the hospital.
Jacory McIntosh, 22, is recovering from wounds to his hip and leg.
Security guard Douglas West, 39, who had burns and contusions to his face and head when he was interviewed by detectives, reported that he had told McIntosh to leave the bus station about 45 minutes prior to the attack.
Around 7:25 a.m., West said he was talking with a co-worker when McIntosh approached and, unprovoked, threw hot coffee at his face and began striking him. West was knocked to the ground twice during the fight. McIntosh used one of West’s firearm magazines that had fallen from his security vest to continue striking him in the head. West said McIntosh stated that he was going to kill him.
A surveillance camera in the area captured the entirety of the incident. The evidentiary footage shows McIntosh throw coffee at West, charge at him twice, get on top of him and throw several punches. The footage shows West get up from the ground a second time and draw a gun. McIntosh is seen making a slight movement toward West again, which is when West began firing.
