A man wanted on an outstanding domestic assault warrant who barricaded himself inside his residence this morning in the 800 block of Willow Trace Court has died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Officers attempting to serve the warrant saw Shaun Quinn-Eggleston, 21, look outside briefly from a window of the residence. Repeated police announcements for him to come outside were unheeded. Negotiators were also on scene and spoke to Quinn-Eggleston until he stopped responding. After an extended amount of time, officers made entry into the residence this afternoon and found Quinn-Eggleston critically wounded. He was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center where he died.
The warrant stemmed from an altercation he had with a family member late Tuesday night in which he struck the victim in the head with his fist after threatening them with a firearm. The family member fled the residence and contacted police.
Quinn-Eggleston was scheduled to appear later this month on aggravated assault and felony weapon possession charges related to a September 2021 road rage shooting on Murfreesboro Pike.
