Central Precinct officers are being joined by Specialized Investigations Division detectives in the search for Tadarius Milan Hunt, 29, who has been identified as the gunman who shot and wounded an employee of the Nashville Rescue Mission near the front doors of the 639 Lafayette Street facility at 2:30 Sunday afternoon.
The 44-year-old victim, who was shot multiple times in the chest and legs, was walking toward the front doors when Hunt was seen running at him before opening fire. The victim had barred Hunt from the property on Sunday morning.
Arrest warrants have been issued charging Hunt with attempted criminal homicide and use of a gun in a dangerous felony. Officers continue to check areas in the downtown core for him, as well as known homeless encampments.
Anyone seeing Tadarius Hunt or knowing his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. He is bald, 5'10" tall, and weighs 180 pounds.
