Accused murderer Latreavias Burns’ days of being a fugitive are over.
Members of the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force this afternoon arrested Burns, 22, who had been on the run for nearly three months, at a Dickerson Pike motel. Burns was wanted for the August 12 fatal shooting of Reginald Williams, 37, on S. 7th Street in Cayce Homes. The investigation, led by Detective William Ashworth, showed that Williams was shot in the back as he attempted to flee Burns’ gunfire. Williams was not believed to have been the intended target.
Burns’ bond on the murder charge is set at $100,000.
