A search warrant served at a Madison auto repair shop has led to the seizure of more than 6,600 heroin pills made with the same markings of the painkiller Oxycodone.
The investigation of Kingsley Acheampong, 33, and his business, Kings Crown Auto Repair on E. Old Hickory Boulevard, revealed that shipments of illegal drugs were being sent there from Mexico. These type of pills have been responsible for overdose deaths across the country in that persons who ingest them believe that they are taking Oxycodone and are not used to the potency of heroin-laced tablets.
In addition to the 6,668 blue pills seized from the business, the Major Case Task Force of the Specialized Investigations Division also found more than 2.5 pounds of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and 5 pistols, 4 of which were stolen (2 in Nashville home burglaries, 1 in a pawnshop robbery, and 1 from Henry County).
Acheampong is charged with possession of heroin and marijuana for resale, unlawful gun possession by a convicted felon (Acheampong has a felony drug conviction in Virginia), and possession of drug paraphernalia. A judicial commissioner set Acheampong’s bond at $35,000, which he posted.
