The Volkswagen Jetta driver killed in Friday afternoon’s three-vehicle crash in the 7300 block of Highway 100 near Edwin Warner Park is identified as John E. Taylor, 65, of Nashville.
The investigation shows that Taylor was traveling outbound on Highway 100 and had slowed or stopped to make a left turn into Edwin Warner Park. His Volkswagen was rear ended by a Kia Forte being driven by Jenna Capraro, 22, of Fairview, Tennessee. The impact pushed the Volkswagen into an inbound traffic lane where it was hit on the passenger side by a Chevrolet Suburban. Taylor, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and died shortly after arriving at the hospital. Capraro and the driver of the Suburban were not critically hurt.
The preliminary contributing factor to this crash appears to be improper following on the part of Capraro. The investigation is continuing.
