Updates: Tremel D. Lewis, 28, of Madison, has been identified as the passenger killed in the head-on collision Sunday morning on Hobson Pike. Leann Sealy was arrested this afternoon and charged with vehicular homicide by intoxication and two counts of vehicular assault for last September’s head-on collision that killed her passenger, Tremel Lewis, 28. Responding officers found marijuana scattered on the seats of the Saturn that Sealy was driving. Her blood test was positive for marijuana.
A 28-year-old man has died following a head-on collision this morning involving a Saturn Aura and a Nissan Murano on Hobson Pike just past Old Nottingham Drive. The preliminary investigation indicates the Nissan was traveling northeast just before 5:30 a.m. when, for an unknown reason, the Saturn crossed the double line into the oncoming lanes of traffic and struck the Nissan head-on.
Both occupants of the Nissan were wearing their seatbelts. Both were transported to Southern Hills Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Neither occupant in the Saturn were wearing their seatbelts. Both were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where the 28-year-old passenger was pronounced dead.
Efforts are underway to notify his next of kin.
The driver of the Saturn, Leann Sealy, 25, sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries as a result of the crash.
Upon completion, the crash investigation will be given to the District Attorney’s Office for review.
