A pedestrian hit by a Lexus sedan Friday night on Dickerson Pike near Gordon Terrace has died. The deceased carried no identification, but is believed to be a 65-year-old Nashville woman who lived nearby.
The preliminary investigation shows that the woman was in the middle of one of the northbound traffic lanes when she was hit at approximately 6:15 p.m. by the 2007 model Lexus, driven by Johnathan Davis, 47, of Nashville. He remained on the scene and told officers that he looked down at something in his car, looked up, and saw the pedestrian immediately in front of him. The woman was transported to a local hospital where she died.
Davis showed no signs of impairment and was not charged in connection with the collision Friday night. He was, however, arrested on an outstanding probation violation warrant.
The investigation into the collision is continuing.
