A pedestrian has died following Wednesday evening’s hit and run crash on Gallatin Pike N near Duling Avenue in Madison. The preliminary investigation indicates the 61-year-old man was in the continuous left turn lane when he was struck by a white sedan.
The impact of the crash knocked the man into the southbound lane of travel when a Nissan Versa also struck him.
He was transported to Skyline Medical Center where he died. Efforts are being made to notify his family.
The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene.
The driver of the white sedan fled the scene of the crash. The vehicle will have front end damage and a busted headlight.
