The public’s assistance is being sought in identifying the hit and run driver who Sunday at 1:30 a.m. struck a man in a motorized scooter at the intersection of Dickerson Pike and Doverside Drive, critically injuring him.
The preliminary investigation shows that a 36-year-old man was riding a motorized scooter from the nearby Wal-Mart when he attempted to cross Dickerson Pike at the intersection and was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Dickerson Pike. The vehicle fled the scene. The victim, who lives on Rainwood Drive, was transported to Skyline Medical Center in critical condition.
Evidence at the scene suggests that the hit and run vehicle is a mid-2000s (2010) black Jeep Grand Cherokee. There is no evidence of impairment on the part of the man on the motorized scooter who was in a crosswalk.
