Registered ex-con Archie Powers, 56, is back behind bars after his arrest Saturday evening for home burglary, theft of property, vehicle theft, and two probation violation warrants.
Violent Crimes detectives stopped Powers on Nolensville Pike at Rosedale Avenue just after 7 p.m. The white Ford Econoline van he was driving had been reported stolen from a Gladstone Avenue business on April 6. The investigation showed that the van had been used in a Hutton Drive residential burglary on May 1.
Powers admitted his involvement in the burglary during which $25,000 worth of property was taken from the victim.
Powers has previous aggravated burglary and theft convictions. He remains jailed without bond.
