A self-defense claim is now being investigated following Monday’s midnight shooting that left a motel employee in critical condition on Dickerson Pike. Two of the three suspects involved came forward and during their interviews with detectives claimed the 18-year-old shooter only fired after the 58-year-old employee fired a Pepper gun at them, which they believed was a handgun.
The third suspect was also identified during the interviews.
The employee was transported to Skyline Medical Center where he remains in critical condition.
This investigation is continuing and will be staffed with the District Attorney’s Office at the conclusion.
