Chief John Drake today announced that seven MNPD veterans have transitioned into new leadership roles.
- Jason Starling, formerly a commander in the Office of Professional Accountability (OPA), has been promoted to inspector and will continue to lead OPA operations. He is a 28-year veteran and holds a Bachelors Degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
- Cameron Brown, formerly a sergeant in the Special Victims Division, has been promoted to lieutenant and is now overseeing the East Precinct’s overnight shift. He is a 13-year veteran and holds a Bachelors Degree from Southeast Missouri State University and a Masters Degree from the University of West Alabama.
- Taylor Blackwelder, formerly a training officer at the MNPD Academy, has been promoted to sergeant and is now a supervisor at the academy. She is a 6-year veteran and holds a Bachelors Degree from Western Governors University in Nevada.
- Ian Hammond, formerly a Field Training Officer at the Hermitage Precinct, has been promoted to sergeant and is now a supervisor on the Southeast Precinct’s evening shift. He is a 12-year veteran and holds a Bachelors Degree from Union University.
- Robert Marquez, formerly a Field Training Officer at the Madison Precinct, has been promoted to sergeant and is now a supervisor on the North Precinct’s evening shift. He is a 6-year veteran.
- Chris Stevick, formerly a Homicide/Cold Case detective, has been promoted to sergeant and is now a supervisor on the flexible D-Detail. He is a 13-year veteran and holds a Bachelors Degree from Texas A & M University.
- Casey Tomes, formerly a Field training Officer at the MNPD Academy, has been promoted to sergeant and is now a supervisor on the East Precinct’s overnight shift. He is a 15-year veteran and holds a Bachelors Degree from Tennessee Technological University
