A shooting suspect is jailed this morning on a $650,000 bond following his arrest Wednesday night for his involvement in the September 17 shooting on Buena Vista Pike that injured a 43-year-old man. Convicted felon Adonis Ellis, 23, was located in Springfield by TITANS Unit detectives and taken into custody for outstanding warrants related to the shooting.
The man and Ellis had an altercation hours prior to the shooting, which took place when they saw each other at the intersection of Buena Vista Pike and Kirk Avenue. The 43-year-old was struck in the leg and transported to Skyline Medical Center for treatment.
Ellis was convicted of robbery last July and sentenced to six years supervised probation. He is now charged with attempted homicide, reckless endangerment, possession of a weapon during the commission of a dangerous felony and being a felon in possession of a weapon.
