Two shooting suspects are out on bond today after they were arrested Monday evening for their involvement in the December 16 gunfire on 25th Avenue North that injured two men.
Trequan Guinn, 34, and Deandra Nelson, 31, were taken into custody by TITANS Unit detectives during a traffic stop at Hamilton Creek Apartments. Two pistols were recovered from inside the car during their arrest.
Both admitted during an interview with Non-Lethal Shooting detectives to participating in the shooting that left a 69-year-old man critically injured from a gunshot wound to his chest and a 46-year-old man recovering from a foot wound.
The investigation revealed the victims pulled up beside Nelson's vehicle, which they mistook for a friend's recently stolen Hyundai Sonata, and the 46-year-old man began attempting to slash the tires. Nelson, who was in the passenger seat of the Sonata, got out and began firing at both men. Guinn exited the market after hearing the gunfire, took possession of the handgun and also fired shots towards the victims.
Nelson, who is now out on a $10,000 bond, was charged with attempted homicide, reckless endangerment, two counts of aggravated assault and employing a weapon during the commission of a dangerous felony.
Guinn was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, possession of a firearm with a domestic violence conviction (from a 2015 domestic assault case) and employing a weapon during the commission of a dangerous felony. He is now out on $15,000 bond.
