The circumstances surrounding Wednesday’s 8:30 a.m. fatal shooting of Kendrick Frazier, 25, at Paul’s Market, 1800 Jefferson Street, remain under investigation.
Officers responded to a shooting at the convenience store, but Frazier and the suspect left prior to their arrival. Frazier drove himself to General Hospital with gunshot wounds to his chest. He was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center where he died.
Frazier and the suspect pulled up to the gas pumps around the same time and exchanged words prior to the suspect firing on Frazier. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
Homicide Unit detectives are pursuing strong leads. The investigations remains active and ongoing.
