Suspected Bank Robber Arrested

Thanks to a tip, suspected bank robber and ex-con Alamin Shakur, 35, was taken into custody Thursday at a Trinity Lane motel.

Detectives had been looking for Shakur after he was identified as the suspect in last Friday's robbery of the U.S. Community Credit Union on Hermitage Avenue. Investigation showed that the suspect was dropped off at the credit union by an Uber driver and was also picked up by an Uber. The account used to order the rides belonged to Shakur.

Shakur, who has previous robbery convictions, is again charged with robbery and being held on $100,000 bond.
