An investigation into Sunday’s 7:45 p.m. apparent accidental shooting, that wounded a 16-year-old male in the 600 block of Charles E. Davis Boulevard, resulted in the arrest of the 17-year-old admitted shooter for an August 26th robbery/shooting on Ember Lake Drive.
Officers responded last night to find the victim inside an apartment seriously injured with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. The 17-year-old was identified as the shooter. During an interview, he told detectives that he had pressed the trigger of his pistol, not realizing a round had been chambered, striking the victim. The teen victim was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious injuries.
Further investigation linked the 17-year-old to the August robbery during which an 18-year-old male was shot in both legs. He is charged with Juvenile Court with aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, and juvenile handgun possession.
