Update: Specialized Investigations Division detectives today arrested a second teen in this shooting case. Anthony Martinez-Nunez, 17, has been booked into juvenile detention on two counts of attempted criminal homicide, two counts of especially aggravated robbery, reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, gun possession during the commission of a dangerous felony, and unlawful gun possession by a juvenile.
Investigation by Specialized Investigations Division detectives resulted in Tuesday’s arrest of 16-year-old Owen Guerrero-Alvarado who admitted to his involvement in the April 30 robbery in the Walmart parking lot at 3035 Hamilton Road during which two males, ages 18 and 14, were shot.
Guerrero and two accomplices met the victims in the parking lot as part of a setup to steal the victims’ gun. They initially had a conversation with them, prior to retrieving their own weapons from their vehicle. Guerrero admitted to firing on the victims. The 18-year-old was shot in the chest and the 14-year-old was shot in the leg. Both continue to recover.
Guerrero is charged in Juvenile Court with two counts of especially aggravated robbery.
