Traffic Division investigators are continuing efforts to identify the two individuals killed in a single-vehicle crash at 3:30 a.m. Saturday on Blue Hole Road. Two Southeast Precinct officers observed a black Infiniti sedan traveling at a high rate of speed when it ran the red light on Blue Hole Road at Bell Road.
The officers attempted to stop the vehicle but were unsuccessful. A short time later the Infiniti was located in a wooded area near the Antioch Park Community Center after it had flipped and caught on fire. Nashville Fire Department was able to extinguish the flames and located two individuals who were deceased inside.
The preliminary investigation indicates the Infiniti crested a hill and lost control. The sedan went over the double yellow lines into opposing traffic before leaving the roadway, striking a tree and coming to rest upside down in the woods where it became engulfed in flames.
The Medical Examiner’s Office will assist in identifying the two individuals inside the Infiniti.
Due to the fire, ownership information on the Infiniti could not be determined at the scene.
