Officers Wednesday charged two 13-year-old LEAD Neely’s Bend Middle School students with carrying an unloaded .40 caliber handgun on campus.
A teacher noticed the two male teens passing a backpack back and forth between them during class. She took the backpack and located the gun inside. Two .40 caliber bullets were also recovered.
Both 8th graders are charged with unlawful possession of a handgun on school property.
