Detectives tonight are charging Jemarvin Jenkins, 22, and Shaun Quinn-Eggleston, 19, with felony aggravated assault for Tuesday afternoon’s shooting of a truck driver on Murfreesboro Pike as part of an apparent case of road rage.
Work by the MNPD’s TITANS (The Investigative Team Addressing Neighborhood Shootings) Unit led to the apprehension of both men and the recovery of the black Acura sedan involved at an Antioch Pike apartment complex. During interviews at the South Precinct, Jenkins admitted to shooting the 40-year-old truck driver after, he said, the truck driver merged into his lane causing him (Jenkins) to drive onto the center median. Quinn-Eggleston admitted to being Jenkins’ passenger and to getting out of the car with Jenkins after they cut off the truck in traffic.
As part of the arrests of Jenkins and Quinn-Eggleston, TITANS detectives recovered 1.7 pounds of cocaine, 16 grams of marijuana, $11,073 cash, a stolen nine-millimeter pistol, a .40-caliber pistol, and more than 50 rounds of ammunition. Work is continuing on this part of the investigation.
