Update: Edgar Saul Beltran, Jr. is in custody in Webb County, Texas. Beltran surrendered to the U.S. Border Patrol in Laredo on Tuesday. He will be returned to Nashville in the near future to face criminal homicide and attempted criminal homicide charges.
The individual who died at Century Farms Emergency Room has now been identified as Aldo Sosa Arteaga, 20. Edgar Saul Beltran Jr., 20, is wanted on an outstanding criminal homicide warrant for the fatal shooting of Alijzhia L. Hatcher on Sunday night, May 17. Beltran is the man who dropped off Aldo Sosa Arteaga at the Century Farms Emergency Room and left. Anyone seeing Beltran or knowing his whereabouts is asked to call 615-742-7463. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
Beltran was arrested in October 2024 on charges of attempted criminal homicide, 2 counts of reckless endangerment, and using a gun in the commission of a dangerous felony. He pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and felony reckless endangerment and received a six-year sentence to be served on supervised probation.
One of the two men killed in Sunday night’s gunfire in the rear parking lot of a gas station at 1110 Bell Road has been identified as Alijzhia L. Hatcher, 19, of Nashville. A 19-year-old man with Hatcher, who identified himself as a relative, is being treated at a hospital for non-life-threating gunshot wounds.
The investigation to this point shows that Hatcher and the other 19-year-old arrived at the parking lot in a Ford Fusion for the purpose of meeting other persons to conduct a reported gun transaction. Those persons arrived in a Honda Accord, which pulled alongside the Fusion. As the parties talked, the deal went bad and shots were fired by both sides. Hatcher, a passenger in the Fusion, was fatally hit. The 19-year-old with him was wounded and drove the Fusion onto nearby Mountain high Drive where it stopped.
The Honda Accord went to Century Farms Emergency Room a short distance away. The driver dropped off an unidentified wounded man and immediately left. That wounded man was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. The Honda was found abandoned on a South Nashville Street during the night and impounded.
The investigation is continuing.
