Two shooting suspects are now in custody for their involvement in the August 2 gunfire that injured two men on Lafayette Street. Jessie Knowles, 28, was arrested by TITANS Unit detectives on September 17 and his co-defendant, Marcus Taylor, 22, was arrested Tuesday evening.
Both Knowles and Taylor are alleged to have fired upon two men (ages 29 and 39) following a brief interaction. The 29-year-old was struck in the leg and driven by private vehicle to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment. The 39-year-old was wounded in the foot and taken by private vehicle to Centennial Hospital.
Knowles was charged with reckless endangerment, being a felon in possession of a weapon and two counts of aggravated assault. He received a $190,000 bond and remains jailed today.
Taylor was charged with reckless endangerment and two counts of aggravated assault. He also remains jailed today in lieu of $220,000 bond.
