Central Precinct officers today arrested two teens suspected of robbing a 23-year-old Indiana man at 2nd Avenue and Broadway during the 3 a.m. hour. Jamerius D. Daniels, 16, and Darius McGill, 17, are both being held at juvenile detention on charges of aggravated robbery and curfew violation.
Officers stopped the pair near the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Representative John Lewis Way after seeing that they matched the description of the two robbery suspects. The victim later positively identified them.
The victim told officers that Daniels and McGill threatened him with what he thought was a gun, made him walk to a nearby ATM, and withdraw $200. He said they grabbed the cash, his cellphone, and ran away. At the time of their arrest, McGill was carrying three cellphones, one of which belonged to the victim. Daniels was carrying $1,570 in cash.
