A 43-year-old bicyclist died early today after he was hit by a car on Nolensville Pike just past the Morton Avenue intersection. Efforts continue to locate the victim’s family.
The preliminary investigation shows that Lorenzia Milan Jr., 60, of Nashville, was driving a 2000 model Chevrolet Cavalier inbound on Nolensville Pike at 5:35 a.m. when the car struck the cyclist in the left travel lane. It appears the cyclist was attempting to cross Nolensville Pike from east to west when he was hit. He died shortly after arriving at Vanderbilt Medical Center.
Milan said the cyclist suddenly appeared in front of him and he was unable to stop before impact. There was no indication of impairment on the part of Milan and no charges were placed. The investigation is continuing.
