Update: Tips from the community led to the identification of Rickey Holman, 34, as the suspected shooter of the parking garage attendant. Holman surrendered at the Downtown Detention Center this afternoon and is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and gun possession by a convicted felon. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $75,000. The woman in the car with Holman has been identified as Natasha Newman, 33. She continues to be sought for questioning in this case.
Violent Crimes detectives are working to identify two people involved in a shooting on Rep. John Lewis Way and Broadway late Sunday night that injured a 35-year-old parking garage attendant. The 35-year-old was assisting people with paying for parking at the gate when a red Chevrolet Equinox pulled up to the gate and allegedly attempted to avoid the fee.
Surveillance footage from the garage shows the driver and passenger of the Equinox in an argument with the attendant. The passenger, described as a black man in his late 20s-early 30s, with a beard and tattoos over his left eye and on the back of his neck, pulls out a pistol and fires one shot at the 35-year-old.
The driver of the Equinox, described as a black woman in her late 20s-early 30s, with long braided hair and a tattoo on her right arm, sped off. A young girl was in the backseat of the Equinox at the time of the shooting.
The 35-year-old was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with a non-critical gunshot wound to his leg.
The male passenger was reportedly wearing a white button-down shirt with thin dark stripes, tan pants, stud earrings and a gold chain. The female driver was wearing a turquois jumper with white bracelets on her wrist. The young girl, 8-10 years old, was wearing a blue dress.
