Accused murderer William D. Britton remains in the Metro Jail after surrendering today to officers downtown.
Britton, 21, is charged with the March 27 fatal shooting of Kendall Ostine, 209, near the intersection of Herman and Blank Streets. It occurred at 6:15 p.m. on that Friday evening.
Britton is accused of initially shooting Ostine from a distance, getting closer and shooting him several more times after he was down. The motive remains under investigation.
Help from community members greatly assisted lead Detective Myriah Iles in identifying Britton, whose bond is set at $150,000.
