The driver who struck a pedestrian in the 1800 block of Division Street Sunday at 8:45 p.m. has been arrested on a charge of felony vehicular assault.
Karson Tamas, 25, of Nashville, was driving her 2018 Toyota RAV4 west on Division Street when she hit Brandon Mohle, 29, of Tacoma, Washington. He had been attempting to cross Division Street. Mohle was critically injured and is being treated at Vanderbilt Medical Center.
When officers arrived on the scene and started speaking with Tamas, they observed indicators of alcohol impairment. She smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech and red/watery eyes. Tamas’s performance in field sobriety tasks indicated impairment. Before going to jail, she was taken to General Hospital for the taking of a blood sample, which will be analyzed for alcohol & drug content. The crash occurred outside of a crosswalk.
Tamas is free on $10,000 bond.
