The woman fatally wounded during Saturday's 11:15 p.m. gunfire during a block party on Oakwood Avenue in East Nashville is identified as Nevaeh Wilson, 20, of Nashville.
Officers responded to multiple calls of shots fired in the area and located a large scene that extended from 2405 Oakwood Avenue to 2608 Oakwood Avenue. Wilson was located with a gunshot wound to her lower back. Wilson had reportedly attended the party and was attempting to run away when the gunfire erupted. She was transported to Skyline Medical Center where she died.
A 24-year-old male gunshot victim, transported by personal vehicle to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, was also reportedly at the party but he refused to give information about how/where he was shot.
Witnesses reported that there was a large block party at the location and individuals began shooting/exchanging gunfire for an unknown reason. The investigation continues.
