Daniel Walz
Sergeant, Hazardous Devices UnitSergeant Daniel Walz joined the Metro-Nashville Police Department in 1997. He currently supervises the Hazardous Devices Unit under the Emergency Contingency Section of the Special Operations Division. He is a certified bomb technician. Sergeant Walz holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Cumberland University and a Master of Science Degree in Public Service Management from Cumberland University.
Prior to his current assignment, Sgt. Walz was the supervisor over the Special Response Team and is a 19 year veteran of the S.W.A.T. Team. Most of his career has focused on proactive street level enforcement and special operations. Daniel has worked and supervised Central Flex Unit, Central CSU Unit, SRT, S.W.A.T. and the Hazardous Devices Unit.
