Matthew Sears
Lieutenant, Supervisor of the Sworn Wellness UnitLieutenant Sears began his law enforcement career in Charlottesville, VA in 2003 before returning home to Nashville in 2005 to work with the Metro Nashville Police Department. He has held various positions during his time in the department, Zone Officer, Field Training Officer, District Sergeant, In-Service Training Coordinator Sgt, Evening and day shift Patrol LT, Precinct Accountability and Compliance LT, Precinct Investigations LT, and Drill and Ceremony Team Commander.
Lieutenant Sears has completed training in law enforcement leadership, incident command systems, Below 100, Autism and law Enforcement, Fair and Impartial Policing, and in conducting police funerals. He has also completed the South Eastern Command and Leadership Academy and the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command. He annually serves as an assessor for other agencies in their promotional processes and enjoys working at hockey and baseball games. He holds a Master’s Degree from Lipscomb University.
