The Z. Alexander Looby Theater ("The Looby") is named after the famed Nashville-based civil rights leader and is home to a wide variety of programming. Located at 2301 Rosa L. Parks Blvd in North Nashville, the facility offers events presented by The Metro Parks Theater, Music, and Dance Departments, as well as events presented by other organizations through partnerships and rentals.
Metro Parks Cultural Arts Performances
The Z. Alexander Looby Theater is home to many of Metro Parks Cultural Arts own performances from the Theater, Music and Dance departments, including:
- Youth Ensemble Productions
- Centennial Youth Ballet Spring Dance Concert
- "jam-band" End-of-Session Concerts

Rental Process
We are not taking reservations at this time due to theater maintenance and upgrades.
- Email theatre@nashville.gov for theater date availability and questions about booking.
- Once available dates are settled, you will be sent the application for rental.
- Fill out application and the event details sheet and return them to theatre@nashville.gov
- Staff will check staff availability and approve if possible.
- If approved, the application will be signed and staff will work with you to collect the deposit.
- After the deposit has been paid, the calendar will be updated with your rental information. Note: The rental is not confirmed until after the deposit has been paid.
