Audition Notice: Mac! Or… The Tragicomedy of Macbeth for Kids
Hey kids! After a long COVID break, Metro Parks Theater Department is back! And we’re putting up a big show in September! Our selected script is Mac! Or… The Tragicomedy of Macbeth for Kids! by E. Roy Lee!
Mac... is a re-telling of one of ol’ Willy Shakespeare’s greatest hits, The Tragedy of Macbeth, except with more witches, kilts, swords, puns, and knock knock jokes than you can shake a stick at! Fashioned after the silly humor of Monty Python and Mel Brooks, it’s a kid-friendly version dressed up in modern English so that even the most clueless Shakespeare fan can understand what’s going on!
Auditions are August 8 and 9 (Monday and Tuesday) from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. and August 13 (Saturday) from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Centennial Performing Arts Studios, located at 211 27th Ave. N. in Nashville. No prior experience or preparation needed to audition, and no registration is required - just show up! This production is open to all members of the public ages 8-14.
We’re also looking for a few mature and responsible techies who want to learn some new skills and help with the production aspects of the show, so come out even if you’re too shy for the stage!
Rehearsals will start the week of August 6, and the production dates are September 15-18.
